Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a massive roadshow in Puducherry ahead of the April 9 elections, drawing a huge crowd and enthusiastic participation from supporters across the city. The roadshow witnessed significant turnout, especially from women and youth, which the Prime Minister described as a strong sign of public support for the NDA government.
After the roadshow, Narendra Modi said that the response from the people of Puducherry was phenomenal and showed that the public has made up its mind to re elect the NDA government. He said the government wants to continue working towards its vision of creating what he described as “BEST Puducherry,” focusing on development, infrastructure, welfare, and economic growth.
He especially highlighted the large presence of Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti during the roadshow, calling their participation a very positive sign for the future of Puducherry. He said that when women and youth participate actively in democracy, it strengthens governance and development.
During his campaign outreach, the Prime Minister spoke about development work carried out in Puducherry in recent years through coordination between the central government and the local administration. He mentioned improvements in infrastructure, including new electric buses, better road connectivity, and development in sectors such as health, education, tourism, and urban infrastructure.
He emphasized that development, governance, welfare, and economic growth remain the main agenda of the NDA government in Puducherry. He also criticized opposition parties, stating that they lack a clear development vision and are focused more on politics than governance.
The upcoming elections in Puducherry are expected to witness a multi cornered contest. The main political contest is expected between the NDA alliance and the Congress DMK alliance, while actor Vijay and his political party have also entered the political field, making the election more competitive.
Political observers believe the election could be closely contested due to multiple parties competing for power. Campaigning has intensified across Puducherry with rallies, roadshows, and public meetings being organised by different political parties to gather public support.
With massive roadshows, strong campaigning, and active participation of women and youth, the political atmosphere in Puducherry has intensified ahead of the April 9 elections, which are expected to play an important role in shaping the region’s political future.
