Launching an aggressive and high-stakes election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Cooch Behar on April 5, setting the tone for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s push ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections scheduled for April 23 and 29.

He described the past 15 years as a period marked by “lawlessness and lack of accountability.”
Framing the election as a defining moment, Modi declared, “This is a battle between trust and fear,” urging voters to choose a future driven by development and stability over what he portrayed as a regime of intimidation. He appealed to the electorate to participate fearlessly, emphasizing that democratic strength lies in uninhibited voting.
