New Town, Kolkata, West Bengal, India
As the political atmosphere intensifies ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, BJP leader and candidate from Kharagpur Sadar constituency Dilip Ghosh launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, questioning its relevance and presence on the ground.
Speaking in New Town, Kolkata, Ghosh criticized the Congress for what he described as a lack of organizational strength and internal unity. “Until now, we didn’t even know where Congress was; they were registering their presence by filing internal fights among themselves,” he said, pointing to alleged infighting within the party.
He further took aim at senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that despite his frequent visits and public engagements, the party has struggled to translate those efforts into electoral success. “Now, Rahul Gandhi goes everywhere, but everyone knows what the results are,” Ghosh remarked, suggesting that the party’s campaign efforts have not yielded significant outcomes.
The comments come amid heightened campaigning across West Bengal, where political parties are aggressively targeting each other in a bid to consolidate voter support. The BJP has been positioning itself as a strong alternative in the state, while opposition parties, including Congress and regional forces, are working to maintain their foothold.
Ghosh’s remarks reflect the broader narrative adopted by BJP leaders during the campaign, focusing on the perceived कमजोरी of opposition parties and highlighting internal challenges within rival camps.
At the same time, the Congress has been attempting to strengthen its presence in the state through alliances, grassroots outreach, and leadership engagement. However, criticism from BJP leaders continues to center around questions of organizational coherence and electoral performance.
The exchange underscores the increasingly sharp political rhetoric in West Bengal, where leaders are intensifying their attacks as the चुनाव draws closer. With multiple parties vying for influence, the contest is shaping up to be a high-stakes battle marked by strong messaging and strategic positioning.
