Suvendu Adhikari Predicts ‘Double-Engine Government’ in Bengal, Targets TMC and Opposition…

Date:

KOLKATA, WEST BENGAL — Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari has expressed strong confidence in a political shift in the state, predicting the formation of a “double-engine government” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking in Kolkata, Adhikari said that the public is ready for change, and claimed that the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 will bring a new government aligned with the Centre. He подчеркнул that such a government would ensure better governance, reduce corruption, and strengthen administrative efficiency.

Adhikari stated that a BJP-led government in the state would focus on ending corruption and ensuring judicial protection for citizens, highlighting law and order as a key concern. According to him, stronger coordination between the state and central governments would lead to faster development and improved public services.

In a sharp political attack, he accused the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and opposition alliance parties of being “anti-women”, alleging that their actions and policies do not support women’s empowerment. He also made cultural references, claiming that such parties stand against traditional values.

Referring to the upcoming polling dates of April 23 and April 29, Adhikari said that women voters—mothers, sisters, and daughters—will play a decisive role in the elections. He expressed confidence that they will vote in large numbers and support change in the state.

He further заявил that public sentiment is shifting, with increasing dissatisfaction over governance issues, and suggested that voters are now more willing to express their views openly. According to him, this change in public mood will be reflected in the election results.

Adhikari’s remarks come as political campaigning intensifies across West Bengal, with leaders from various parties making strong claims and counterclaims ahead of the polls. Issues such as governance, corruption, women’s empowerment, and development have emerged as central themes in the campaign.

Political observers note that the concept of a “double-engine government” has become a key talking point for the BJP, emphasising the benefits of having the same party in power at both the state and central levels.

Suvendu Adhikari’s statement reflects the BJP’s confident stance ahead of the elections, focusing on change, governance reforms, and women’s participation, while strongly criticising the ruling party and opposition alliances.
