Locket Chatterjee Targets TMC Over ‘Appeasement Politics’, Claims Shift in Minority Support…

Kolkata, West Bengal, India

Amid the ongoing political campaign in West Bengal, BJP leader Locket Chatterjee launched a strong attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress, alleging that the party relies on appeasement politics and vote consolidation strategies.

Speaking in Kolkata, Locket Chatterjee claimed that the primary focus of the TMC is to consolidate votes from specific communities, particularly Muslims. She alleged that such strategies are used to influence electoral outcomes rather than focusing on development and governance.

She stated that “the only mission of the TMC is to unite the votes of Muslims,” accusing the party of engaging in identity based politics.

Chatterjee further alleged that the Trinamool Congress wins elections by adopting what she described as appeasement politics. According to her, such an approach does not reflect inclusive governance and fails to address the broader needs of all sections of society.

She claimed that TMC relies on “politics of appeasement” to secure electoral victories, rather than focusing on development driven policies.

In addition, Locket Chatterjee asserted that minority communities in West Bengal are losing trust in the ruling party. She suggested that there is a shift in voter sentiment and that minority voters may not support the TMC in the upcoming elections.

She claimed that minorities in the state “do not trust TMC” and will not vote for the party, indicating BJP’s confidence in changing voter dynamics.

Her remarks come at a time when political rhetoric in West Bengal has intensified, with leaders from different parties making strong statements and counter statements as part of election campaigning. Issues related to community politics, governance, development, and voter trust continue to dominate the narrative.

It is important to note that these statements are political allegations and opinions expressed by a party leader, and there has been no official response from the Trinamool Congress regarding these specific claims at this stage.

The comments reflect the sharp and often polarised nature of political discourse in West Bengal, as parties seek to influence voter perception ahead of crucial elections.

With campaigning gaining momentum, such statements are expected to further intensify debates and shape the political narrative in the state.

As the elections approach, competing claims over voter support and governance will continue to dominate the political landscape in West Bengal.
