Kharagpur, West Bengal, India
Amid the intensifying political battle in West Bengal, senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh made strong remarks targeting the ruling Trinamool Congress, alleging that the party is using external narratives to influence elections while also highlighting national security under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking in Kharagpur, Dilip Ghosh claimed that the Trinamool Congress is relying on issues linked to Pakistan during the election campaign. He questioned why political debates and controversies are being centered around Kolkata instead of national issues, suggesting that such narratives are being deliberately created.
He alleged that TMC is “taking the support of Pakistan to win the elections,” raising concerns over the nature of political discourse during the campaign. His remarks add to the ongoing exchange of sharp political statements between major parties in the state.
Dilip Ghosh further said that earlier there were instances where statements from Pakistan would become major political issues, and reactions within the country would follow. He suggested that such patterns have been used politically in the past and continue to influence current debates.
At the same time, he strongly backed Narendra Modi, stating that under his leadership, India’s position on national security has become stronger. He said that the country has taken a firm stand on issues related to external threats and sovereignty.
He asserted that as long as Narendra Modi is leading the country, no external force would have the courage to challenge India. His remarks highlight the BJP’s emphasis on strong leadership and national security as key themes in its election campaign.
The comments come at a time when political campaigning in West Bengal has reached a peak, with leaders from different parties making strong allegations and counter allegations on issues ranging from governance and development to national security and identity politics.
Dilip Ghosh’s statement reflects the sharp and aggressive tone of the ongoing election campaign, where national issues are being intertwined with state level political narratives. As elections draw closer, such statements are expected to further intensify the political discourse across West Bengal.
